The sales man (Randy) at this dealership was so great in helping me get my brand new 2011 Equinox. He worked hard to find me exactly what I wanted for a vehicle. The whole transaction went smoothly and efficiently with no snags and if there were any, he dealt with them in a timely manner. Not making me wait for the car. It's been 25 years since I felt like I was in a dealership that really was more interested in making me happy by offering a great deal on a used car....than on selling a used car. I can't say enough about the sales staff and the financing department. I also want to say that after driving my new Saturn Aura XR, I wish I had looked at them years ago. The entire 2 days it took to complete the deal was only hampered by a couple bumbs in the road but no problem. My only suggestion Brian...like I said, it I owned a dealership is that no car will be delivered to any customer with anything less than a full tank of fuel. Sorry bud, just kinda surprised me. I will be back and any friends or family that are looking for a car will be sent your wat. Thanks to all of you.

I went to Schafer in search for an SVU. I actually looked at a ton of vehicles at their lot and at other lots. I test drove a handful of vehicles. I feel in love with a car that they had on their lot at Schafer. I worked with Dawn and she was very helpful she handled all of the paperwork I really had to do next to nothing. I recently began the long and exhausting search for my dream car. I literally drove all over the state: Flint, Clarkston, Warren, Saginaw, Owosso, and Midland. It seemed like everywhere I went something turned me off about the other dealerships. They were either way over-priced or had very poor customer service.
I finally found my car online at Shafers website and made the short drive over to their dealership. As soon as I walked in and met John Napora, I knew he was the right guy. He was warm, welcoming, and really focused on what I wanted.
After test driving two cars (same model), John parked them side by side and physically pointed out the differences for me. He didnt steer me towards the more expensive model, he was completely honest and let the decision be mine alone. I was very impressed with his customer service; I felt that he was direct and honest with me.
In addition, I was given several hundred dollars above what I estimated the trade-in value on my previous, which I based on the KBB. That was such pleasant surprise.
I would recommend their dealership and John Napora to everyone!!

I am totally impressed with my experience with Schafer Chevrolet! I was looking online at vehicles because I don't have a lot of time for running all over the state looking for a car. With Schafer I didn't have to do that. I found a vehicle that was in my price range with low miles and in excellent condition, but rather than taking time off work to drive 45 minutes one way Schafer actually BROUGHT THE CAR TO ME TO TEST DRIVE IT!!! This alone was impressive but the remainder of the day was unbelievable. I test drove the car at 10am and by 4pm that same day the car was brought back to me with all the papers I needed to sign to seal the deal. So I test drove the car and bought it in a matter of a few hours without having to miss hours of work. The car is just what I was looking for and I couldn't be happier with the whole car buying experience. Even though I never met my salesman face to face he did what had to be done to get me in that car, and that's more than i've received from other sales people face to face. I would recommend Schafer to anyone looking to buy a vehicle. They truly know what CUSTOMER SERVICE is.

I like the fact that they didn't treat me like an idiot like most of the other car dealerships did. Many dealerships thought I was an easy push over because I am a teenager. Good place to purchase your next vehicle!
I was a little peaved at first calling them on July 5th to make sure they were open, as I had a 122 mile drive only to find them closed when I arrived.
but they did good by bringing the vehicle to me for a test run after the fact and even fixed a minor problem on an "as-is" product.
I will definately be seeing John at Schafer's in the future for my next purchase as Alpena does not have the product or the service.

This is the first time I have ever bought a car from a dealership. I was impressed with the selection of fairly priced cars and trucks at Schafer. I found the car I was interested in online contacted sales and was in touch with Tim Dumas the next day. Made arrangements to test drive the car the following day and ended up trading in my SUV getting financed and walking out the door with keys in hand all in just over an hour. We recently purchased a used vehicle at Schafer's Chevrolet, and were pleasantly surprised by the process. The car was for my wife, and we spent a number of weeks looking at various possibilities throughout the state. The salesman (Tim Dumas) was patient and NEVER pressured us with the stereotypical approach of, "What can I do to get you into this car yesterday ?" Our questions and concerns were addressed in a professional manner that was lacking in some of the other dealerships that we visited during those weeks. I just bought a vehicle from the team at Schafers and they seem honest and went the extra mile to help me out. I bought a used vehicle and it was exactly as described, and they kept great contact with me during the whole process. I live in the UP of michigan so doing business over the internet / phone can be tough, but the fellas at Schafers instilled confidence and made me trust them. Glad I did, they passed on a great deal to me and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Also, the delivery was great. A reckless speeding out-of-towner totaled my pickup and I needed another fast. I have livestock and can't be without my truck for hauling hay and feed. I got online and searched Edmunds.com and found a nice used truck at Schafer's. The truck looked good in the photos and the Carfax was right there to view. We live a long ways north (Mikado) but I borrowed my husband's Jeep and drove down to Pinconning. Our salesperson was John and he made the experience fast and easy. I was in the market for a HD Truck (used vehicle) that we could use to tow our boat, and something better to drive on the winter roads. We spotted one on autotrader, and sent an e-Mail inquiry. Within a short period of time we had a response and some of our initial questions answered. Due to the distance we are from the dealership (about 60 miles), we didn't want to drive up to check it out until we did all of our research. Our sales rep (Tim) was extremely helpful answering all our questions. They even drove the vehicle down to our house for us to check out and take for a test drive. The other upside to the experience was our trade-in. We needed a certain amount for our trade (a fair amount based on the KBB, etc.). Since we weren't able to drive it up to them, they agreed that if we took pictures of the inside and out that they could give us a pretty close quote to what they would offer for the trade (that was definitely nice as well). Overall, we had an outstanding experience with Schafer Chevrolet. We have purchased many new and used vehicles in the past and this has been the best experience from beginning to end (with them bringing the vehicle down, no haggle pricing, and fair offer for the trade in). I would recommend the dealership for anyone in the market for a new or used vehicle.

I bough a Jeep from Schafers in Pinconning, and they were GREAT! They gave me an excellent deal on my trade and my salesman Shawn made it fun and was great about answering questions. I had some things that needed to be fixed, the only complaint I had was that I was told to bring it in and they would look at it first thing, but it seemed to sit there all day because the service department was unaware that other sales guys from up front told me to bring it it and they would look at it frist thing in the morning. I'm guessing that it was a communication error, but once that was straighned out everything was handled adn repaired quickly. I would deffinalt buy from Schafer again! and use the service department!!

Unlike other dealerships in the area, they did not exploit my naivete and youth in buying my first car. They answered all of my questions honestly and even brought the car to my college for me to test drive. Shawn was very helpful and was closer to my age, which made me feel more comfortable especially since he had the car I was looking at. They had a large variety of cars in the price range I was looking for, and I left feeling very satisfied with my 07 Saturn Ion. Oh, they also gave me a free lunch, which was pretty yummy.

I was looking for a rather unique vehicle, a plain jane 2500HD with a Duramax diesel. Schafer had the only one in a 60 mile radius from me. John Napora was excellent as a salesman, very helpful. Lee got me financed with a good deal so quickly, it wasn't funny. All around a great buying experience, this is the third vehicle I've bought from Schafer (2 used 1 new) and I'd recommend them to anyone. I recently bought a Grand Prix from Schafer in Piconning. I would recommend that anyone who is looking for a new or used vehicle choose Schafer. They do not pressure you into anything and are very patient with you while you make a decision. My husband and I have recently purchased a Chevy Traverse from Schafer in Pinconning. We looked into other dealerships, however, Schafer....once again....has proved to be the most efficient when closing a deal. We met with Dawn, our salesperson, asked her to find the best price on a Traverse for us, and within a few hours she had located just the vehicle we were looking for, with all the options we had requested at a price we felt was reasonable. The vehicle was in our posession the very next day with little time spent on paperwork and such. They also offered the best trade in price for our vehicle. I really like that with Schafer, the employees are serious about getting you into the vehicle you want or need, and they get right to business when searching for that vehicle if they do not have it on the lot. I also like that much of the paperwork can be done in a short period of time, so that you are not spending hours trying to close the deal. I would recommend Schafer's to anyone looking for the best deal, and the best staff when it comes to buying vehicles.

My 2006 Cobolt was just not the car for me, no room to put things in the trunk. My Son bought it and I was in a real need for a hatchback type car. I looked all over near and far and even on-line for a GOOD Used car. I found just what I want and it ended up being at the closest place near my home. Schafer Auto right in Pinconning MI.
